How To Submit Your Story

If you have a story that you would like to have included in the Connecticut Broken Hearts Gallery you may submit it to us at lorac.sdjg@gmail.com

Write your own story or, if you prefer, you may provide the specific details and we will write it for you. Include an outline of your experiences in an email or provide a phone number and we will contact you. Nothing will be posted until you have approved it.

It is important that your portrait is presented as accurately as possible, but we ask that you observe the following guidelines:

  • Use pseudonyms for all foster children
  • Describe how you believe DCF was reckless (e.g., they decieved us by letting us believe that the children they placed in our home would "never" be returned to their biological mother)
  • Don't hesitate to say something nice. We have all met DCF aides, workers and administrators who have been shining stars in our dark experiences. Please do not mention them by name, but give them the kudos they deserve.
  • The biological parents are not the ones who have affected our families and this blog does not concern them. Many have their own concerns regarding DCF. Please avoid including specific information about biological relatives.
